BOONE, Iowa—The newest Captain for the Boone Fire Department is Jayme Crook. Crook was one of three candidates that went through the civil service process and was eligible for consideration. The others that were eligible for consideration were Shane Lovig and Casey Petersen. Crook fills the vacancy created with the retirement of Kent Peterson earlier this year.
