Daniel Larson, 75, Stratford, Iowa
STRATFORD, Iowa—Daniel Earl Larson of Stratford, Iowa passed away on June 8, 2026 while working on his farm. He was born on March 11, 1951 in Boone, Iowa to parents Eileen and Arnold Larson.
Dan graduated from Stratford High School and later earned a degree in agronomy from Iowa State University. He worked for Syngenta for 33 years before retiring. He married the love of his life, Janet, on November 5, 1977, and together they built a beautiful life. They shared 48 years of marriage which included many bouquets of red roses!
Dan was passionate about many things, including John Deere tractors, traveling, gardening, spending time with his family, reading, and his faith. Music was an important part of his life. He sang in church and community choirs and especially loved Christmas music. He and Janet traveled extensively, creating many memories together.
He is survived by his wife Janet; his daughters Lisa Kilmer, Amy Larson (Matt), and Sara Olson (Jeff); his grandchildren Brennen Reysack, Erin Reysack, Autumn Baalman (Brandon), and Zach Olson; siblings Ellen Jane Tinkum (Ron), Phillip Larson (Toni), and John Larson (Lois); and sister-in-law Shirley Larson (Lowell).
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Bill, Roger, and Lowell, and son-in-law Bill Kilmer.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Stratford Lutheran Church, with Pastor Alex Zenk officiating. Visitation with the family present to greet friends will be prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Stratford Lutheran Church.
Memorials can be directed to the family to use at their discretion.
