BOONE, Iowa—David Lewis Duncan, 63, passed away at his home on Thursday, September 25, 2025.
David was born on September 30, 1961, in Winfield, Kansas, the son of Ronald and Mildred (Dixon) Duncan.
David worked as an engineer for the Union Pacific Railroad until his retirement. He took great joy in sharing his passion for his work with others.
David never met anyone he didn’t like. He was a kind and amazing man.
He met Jennifer Bennett at church, and the two were married in Boone on August 13, 2014. Together, they traveled in their RV all throughout the United States, and enjoyed being “snowbirds” during Iowa winters.
David enjoyed camping at Ledges, and anywhere he could fit his trailer.
He was preceded in death by his parents and was joined by his brother, Douglas Duncan of Odessa, TX, who passed within hours of David.
David is survived by his wife, Jennifer, of Boone; four children, Mariah (Christian) Ott of Williams, Jennifer (Dustin) Williams of Colorado Springs, CO, Danielle (Ashton) Murphy of Waukee, and Zackery Scott of Creston; sister, Shar (Robert) Achary of Franklinton, LA; and six grandchildren, Carter Ott, Troy Williams, Bradley Williams, Devin Sledge, Simon Sledge, and Deacon Sledge.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
