The Boone baseball team put together a complete performance Monday, June 16, rolling to a 12-2 victory at Gilbert in a Raccoon River Conference matchup shortened by the run rule.

Boone wasted no time getting on the board.

After a single run in the first, the Toreadors exploded for four runs in both the second and fourth innings, then added three more in the fifth to put the game out of reach.

Noah Davies delivered a big blow with a two-run home run, while Dylan England led the offensive charge with three hits, including a double, four runs scored, and an RBI.

Cole Bowers added two hits and two RBIs.

Tate Carlson and Ryan Bowers each had two hits, two RBIs, and a run scored.

Tyler Lindahl contributed two hits, an RBI, and scored twice, while Luke Moore and Tyce Carlson each chipped in with a hit and an RBI.

On the mound, Reid Carr tossed a complete game and striking out three to earn the win.

The second game of the doubleheader was suspended due to rain.

With the win, Boone improved to 11-5 overall and 3-4 in conference play.

Gilbert dropped to 8-7 and 4-1 in the conference.

The Toreadors return home Wednesday night to host Winterset (10-7, 4-3) at 7 p.m. at Memorial Park in another conference matchup.
