BOONE, Iowa—Dennis “Muley” L. Berry, 76, of Boone, passed away of Multiple Myeloma on September 1, 2025 at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines, surrounded by family.
Denny was the first son born to Donald L. and Darlene (Clabaugh) Berry on February 22, 1949, in Webster City. He attended Freedom #3 country school and Webster City Schools, graduating in 1967. Denny attended Lincoln Tech for small engine repair, and at one point he owned a car repair shop in Woolstock.
Denny enjoyed dirt track racing and Harley motorcycles. He spent many hours riding his shiny red Harley trike.
Denny had many adventures in life and after beating cancer left Minnesota and moved to Boone and was working at D&J Tree Service.
Denny leaves behind, a son, Daniel Bemie of Kansas City, MO; step-daughters, Ullonda Stockdall of Des Moines, and Wendy Willard of Fort Dodge; sisters, Connie Caquelin of Woolstock, and Jane Berry of Webster City; brothers, Duane (Pam) Berry of Clear Lake, and Rodney (Jodi) Berry of Fort Dodge; uncle, Ben Franklin of Boone; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; daughter, Lea Berry; sister, Janet Mathews; nephews Henry Caquelin and Joe Mathews.
A private inurnment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Stratford. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to John and Erin Sorenson and Ullonda Stockdall for all their time and help with Denny.
