DES MOINES, Iowa—Diane Renae (Rouse) Brown, age 68, of Des Moines, Iowa died at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines on Monday, December 30th surrounded by loved ones after a long battle with cancer . Her body has been cremated. A Celebration of Life for Diane will be Sunday, March 16, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Boone Pioneer Senior Center at 1111 Story Street, Boone, Iowa.
Diane was born in Jefferson, Iowa in 1956, the daughter of Thomas and Audrey Rouse. She attended Boone schools and married Boyd Brown in 1974 in Boone, Iowa. Diane worked years at Henricks Envelope until 1997. Diane (Blanche) had a lot of fun at the stock car races with her husband Boyd and later her son Eric racing under #24. She enjoyed all her children’s and grandchildren’s softball and baseball games; they brought great joy to her life. Her hobbies were cross stitching, scrap booking, and she was handy with a glue gun.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents, ex-husband, two sisters Sandra Hammond and Christine Peter, two brothers Michael and Joe Rouse, sister-in-law Suzie Rouse, and niece Claire Ranae Rouse.
She is survived by her daughter Rachell (Nekey) of Des Moines and son Eric (Ashley) of State Center . Grandchildren Trevon (Tiarra), James, Audrey, Easton, Emrey and her great granddaughter Xiomora. Three sisters, Teresa of Iowa City, Nancy of Dallas, Tx and Kay (Bob) DeVoodg of Boone. Six brothers, Patrick (Fran) of Diagonal, IA, Tom, Jim, John (Teresa), Paul of Boone and David of Huxley, IA. Brother-in-law Larry Peter of Anchorage, AK, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and a few great-great nieces and nephews and a whole lot of friends.
We’re sure she had quite the welcoming committee when she passed over, she will be greatly missed by many, keep her love in your hearts and enjoy your lives, be blessed! Diane wanted to make sure her final words would be spread with laughter and happiness, and Diane said, “See you later suckers!” …
