DMACC and Drake University Sign New Agreement

DES MOINES, Iowa—Senior leaders from DMACC and Drake University have signed off on a new Athletic Training 2+1+2 agreement in Cline Hall at Drake University this week.  Participating students can earn their Associates Degree in Fitness and Sports Management at DMACC and then transfer to Drake to complete their Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Athletic Training.

Coryn Staton from Zion, Illinois is a DMACC Fitness and Sports Management Student and will be the first DMACC student to participate in the new transfer program.

Staton plans to enroll at Drake University this fall to complete her bachelor’s and Master’s Degree, in Athletic Training.  Coryn said she is passionate about teaching athletes how to prevent injuries.  She plans to become an athletic trainer at a university upon graduation and eventually hopes to own her own rehabilitation and training facility in the future.
