DMACC Online Business Degree Ranked One of Nations Best

KWBG 12/18/19

ANKENY, Iowa— DMACC’s online Business Degree is one of the nation’s top-ranked programs according to Intelligent.com, an online magazine and resource dedicated to students.

Intelligent.com, based in Seattle, Washington, ranked DMACC’s Business Administration AAS Degree #6 in the nation after evaluating 1,604 accredited colleges and universities throughout the United States for their Business Administration Associates degree.

The business programs were measured using a unique scoring system that analyzed each program’s curriculum quality, graduation rate, reputation and post-graduate employment.

“We’re thrilled with this announcement and the national recognition it brings to DMACC’s Business program,” said Jeanie McCarville Kerber, DMACC Acting Dean of Business and Industry. “Our business faculty work hard providing outstanding curriculum and personalized instruction. It’s a valuable and in demand college major.”

Each year more than 1,000 students are enrolled in DMACC’s Business Administration program, which is located across all six DMACC campuses. About one quarter of those students are pursuing the Associates Degree through online classes.

“Over the past year we have taken a number of steps to enhance our online experience, including improved instruction, better consistency and stronger design of online courses,” said Tom Ayers, Dean of DMACC Online Learning.

Ayers noted that more students are taking online courses due to the convenience and flexibility that an online schedule offers.

Penn State University, located in State College Pennsylvania, received Intelligent.com’s #1 ranking for an Associates Degree in Business Administration. Others in the top ten include St. Petersburg College, Broward College and New England College of Business. Intelligent.com noted that the Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts the U.S. will add about three quarters of a million new business jobs within the next seven years. A DMACC Business Administration degree offers foundation coursework and includes, Intro to Business, Principals of Accounting, Business Law and Core Math.

Spring semester classes start on Monday, January 13, 2020. For more information, visit dmacc.edu.
