DMACC’s 2019 Alumni Award Recipients Announced

ANKENY, Iowa—Eight former DMACC students will be honored at a special dinner and recognition ceremony on Tuesday, April 23.

Seven DMACC alumnus will receive the Outstanding Alumni Award.  They include:

Betty Baker, Retired Program Chair, Surgical Technology, DMACC, Story City, IA

 Amy Boeckmann, Director Clinical Education, Respiratory Therapy, DMACC, Johnston, IA

Christine Branstad, Former First Lady of the State of Iowa, Beijing, China

Brandy Lueders, Owner, The Grateful Chef, Des Moines, IA

John McManus, Director of Operations, Sticks Design Studio, Des Moines, IA

Terry D. Stark, Owner, Chocolaterie Stam, Nevada, IA

Mike Whitsell, Fire Marshall, West Des Moines Fire Department, West Des Moines, IA

Outstanding Alumni Award

The Outstanding Alumni Award is the highest honor given to DMACC graduates by the Alumni Association. This award honors and recognizes individuals who provide service to their community, country, and/or fellow citizens; have had great professional or personal achievement since graduation; and continue to be involved in the life and work of DMACC.

In addition, the DMACC Alumni Early Achievement Award will be given to the following recent DMACC graduate:

Taha Gesalla, Undergraduate MAPS President/SHEPE Ambassador, University of Iowa, Iowa City, IA​

DMACC Alumni Early Achievement Award

The DMACC Alumni Early Achievement Award was created to recognize alumni who have graduated from DMACC within the last ten years and have displayed exemplary personal or professional achievement or volunteer service to their community.
