DES MOINES, Iowa—Drake University and Des Moines Area Community College have reached a mutual agreement that will end litigation regarding disputed logo use.Drake and DMACC have been working together closely to resolve the issue outside of the courts and are glad to have reached a signed resolution. Both parties look forward to continuing their long-standing partnership and shared programs in service to current and future generations of students.
The success of the relationship can be seen in the number of students served through their partnerships—Drake is among the top five schools to which DMACC graduates transfer, and DMACC is the top school for the number of student transfers into Drake each year. As part of the Iowa Private Transfer Collaborative, the two schools will continue to partner closely on cross-enrollment advising to ensure DMACC graduates are guaranteed admission to Drake. In addition to cross-enrollment collaboration, Drake and DMACC continue to partner on mutually beneficial partnerships in service to their respective students and the Des Moines community.
Neither institution will have further comment on the matter.
