Drought Conditions Expand Across Iowa

KWBG 10/18/24

BOONE, Iowa—As expected, no rain allowed drought conditions to continue expanding across the state this past week. The Weekly Drought Monitor map from Tuesday shows expanding areas for both Moderate Drought and Severe Drought. The area of Abnormally Dry conditions declined and there still remains small areas unaffected by drought conditions. Locally, Boone County was listed Abnormally Dry a week ago. This week the entire county is in Moderate Drought. A very slight chance of some precipitation exists early next week.
