DES MOINES, Iowa—The weekly drought monitor shows more improvement in drought conditions across the state since last week. Heavy rainfall last week did escalate flood issues mostly over eastern Iowa. Locally river levels have receded since Saturday evening. Drought conditions exist on only 2.2% of the state and there’s a large decline in Abnormally Dry area. Boone County remains drought free.
