
DES MOINES, Iowa—Iowa’s seeing a reduction in near-drought conditions after recent rainfall. The new National Drought Monitor map shows no more abnormally dry conditions in Central and much of Eastern Iowa. There is still near-drought in Northwest and across Northern Iowa, with a new area of moderate drought in North-Central Iowa. This week’s map shows Moderate Drought Conditions over 7% of the state and Abnormally Dry Conditions has dropped to just under 32% of the state.
Locally, Boone County is once again considered drought free.
