Eagle Grove shuts out Ogden football

Eagle Grove spoiled the Ogden football team’s home opener Friday, September 4, defeating the Bulldogs, 20-0, at Ogden High School. 

Ogden moved the ball through the air at times but was unable to find the end zone. 

Quarterback Carson Lloyd completed 23 of 32 passes for 146 yards, spreading the ball to six different receivers.  

Weston Sundell led the receiving corps with eight catches for 46 yards, while Brayden Miller added three receptions for 44 yards.  

Jackson Klith contributed eight catches for 36 yards out of the backfield. 

Kobe Current hauled in one pass for nine yards, Tyler Lass added an eight-yard reception, and Zachary Crosman finished with two catches for three yards. 

Klith led Ogden’s rushing attack with 21 yards on eight carries. 

Defensively, Ogden was led by Ryder Eklund, who recorded a team-high 11 tackles.  

Current finished with 10.5 tackles and a tackle for loss, while Dillon Moe added 8.5 tackles, a tackle for loss and a fumble recovery. 

Lass contributed 7.5 tackles and two tackles for loss, and Landon Alexander collected six tackles with two tackles for loss.  

Crosman added six tackles. 

Sundell also intercepted a pass and finished with three tackles. 

Eagle Grove improved to 2-0 overall, while Ogden dropped to 1-1. 

Ogden will host Manson-Northwest Webster (0-2) at 7 p.m. Friday, September 11.
