MADRID, Iowa—The Madrid Fire Department was called to the scene of a residential house fire in the 400 Block of East 9th Street about 1:40 Saturday morning. Additional details of the cause of the fire are under investigation with the State Fire Marshall. The identity of the deceased has not been released at this time.
The Madrid Fire Department received assistance from a number of agencies including the Madrid Police Department, Woodward Fire Department, Slater Fire Department, Boone Fire Department, Boone County EMS, Boone County Search and Rescue, Boone County Sheriff’s Department and the State Fire Marshall’s office.
