BOONE, Iowa—Emma M. Mosier, 88, of Boone, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2026, at the Madrid Home in Madrid. Following Emma’s wishes cremation has taken place.

Emma was born February 4, 1938, in Jefferson, the daughter of William and Emma (Bushore) Mosier. She was a longtime member of the Open Bible Church in Boone. Emma enjoyed wordsearch puzzles, plastic canvas art and watching old tv shows, especially Murder She Wrote, Matlock, and MacGyver. She was known for baking and made sure everyone was fed when the family got together during the holidays.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Thomas Mosier; two daughters, Brenda Elsberry and Val Hughes; grandson, Ronnie Elsberry; brother, Leonard Mosier; and three sisters, Mariena Okrzynski, Wilma Miller, and Mary Mosier.

Emma is survived by four children, Craig (Pat) Elsberry of Boone, Roy Elsberry of Boone, Leonard Elsberry of Woodward and Vicky Elsberry of Boone; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and a brother Joseph Charles Nolan of Ohio.

The family is planning a Celebration of Life, for a later date, at the Open Bible Church.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall Streets in Boone. Online condolences may be left to Emma’s family at www.schroedermemorialchapel.com
