BOONE, Iowa—The Boone County Engineer’s office today announced that the bridge replacement project on QW Lane west of Madrid is nearing completion. Today’s most recent announcement:
QW lane is now back open to traffic. Work will be ongoing. Seeding will have to be completed and additional erosion control items will be added. During construction the section of bike trail where the detour crossed the bike trail was damaged. That will need to be repaired. Right now that piece of concrete will be removed and replaced in one day. The repair is planned for October 14th. Cyclists will have to dismount and walk around. Please use caution the ground is uneven from the detour route. The lighting and painting needs to be completed as well as the fencing on the wingwalls. We don’t have a solid schedule for those items because of a supply chain issue on material and a temperature issue with the painting. Thank you for everyone’s patience. Again to all please exercise caution as we finish this project.
