The Boone baseball team scored a 10-5 road win over Des Moines Lincoln on Monday, June 30, powered by a big performance from Dylan England and a solid outing on the mound from Landon Youngblood.
After falling behind 1-0 in the first, the Toreadors responded with one run in the second, a four-run third, and a five-run eighth to pull away late.
England led the offensive charge, going 2-for-4 with 3 RBIs, 2 runs scored, a home run, and a stolen base.
Youngblood helped his own cause with 2 hits, a run, and an RBI, while also pitching seven strong innings with four strikeouts to earn the win.
Noah Davies scored twice, and Tate Carlson added 2 RBIs on a hit and a run scored.
Tyler Lindahl, Lucas Moore, and Reid Carr also contributed hits in the victory.
With the win, Boone improves to 16-8 overall and remains 7-5 in the Raccoon River Conference.
Des Moines Lincoln falls to 6-21.
The Toreadors return home tonight for a conference matchup against Ballard (21-7 overall, 9-4 conference) at 5 p.m. at Memorial Park.
