Feenstra to Host Military Academy Day for Iowa Students Interested in Military Service

KWBG 03/14/24

WASHINGTON, D.C.—U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) announced that he will host a Military Academy Day for Iowa students – 8th grade through 12th grade – interested in applying to one of our nation’s five military academies. Representatives from all five academies will be present to answer questions and provide advice.

The five academies are the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, the U.S. Military Academy, the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, and the U.S. Air Force Academy.

“Our military is the strongest fighting force in the world due to the service and sacrifice of the brave men and women who wear the uniform and defend our freedoms. We can never adequately thank our troops for risking their own lives to protect our communities and our nation,” said Rep. Feenstra. “I encourage any student interested in applying to one of our nation’s military academies to attend my Military Academy Day in Fort Dodge. This will be a unique opportunity to hear directly from representatives from each of the academies and learn more about the application process.”

Feenstra’s Military Academy Day will be held at Iowa Central Community College in Room 133 of the Greehey Building on Thursday April 4, 2024 from 4:30 PM CT to 7:00 PM CT. The address is One Triton Circle Fort Dodge, IA 50501.

For more information, please contact Jim Oberhelman, U.S. Military Academy Coordinator in Rep. Feenstra’s office, at 515-302-7060.
