BOONE, Iowa—The Boone Professional Firefighters Local #678 had a successful pancake fund raiser Sunday. Firefighters were looking to raise funds to help with the purchase of some new equipment, particularly power tools and similar items used on emergency calls. The Association wanted to raise about $5,000 to go toward the equipment project and were able to do that with more than 530 people turning out.
Pancakes, sausage, juice, milk and coffee were served up by members of the Boone Fire Department at the Fire Station from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Sunday.
