The Boone boys’ wrestling team qualified four wrestlers for the Iowa High School State Wrestling Championships Saturday, February 14, at the Class 3A district tournament in Ankeny.

Easton Landas (106), Ajay Braddock (132), Owen Thomas (150) and Brody Warrick (165) all punched their tickets to the state meet in Des Moines.

Easton Landas (26–4) continued his season by capturing the 106‑pound district championship.

After receiving a first‑round bye, Landas beat Dallas Center‑Grimes’ Quinn Harris with a technical fall in 2:53.

He sealed his state berth with a 16–8 major decision in the finals against Ankeny’s Eddie Salgado.

Ajay Braddock (32–3) advanced to state with a runner‑up finish at 132 pounds.

Braddock opened his day with a first‑period pin over Des Moines North’s Blessings Mukina and followed with a dominant tech fall in the semifinals.

Then, Braddock fell just short in a 5–4 decision to Dallas Center‑Grimes’s Avery Van Zelderen.

Braddock secured his state spot with a 15–6 major decision in the match over Linn‑Mar’s Will Smith.

At 150 pounds, Owen Thomas (26–14) earned his state berth after finishing second.

Thomas received a bye to the semifinals, where he controlled Jackson Murray (DC‑G) for a 12–4 major decision.

He fell in the championship match to Ames’ Braxton Winkey but advanced via medical forfeit in the second‑place match.

Brody Warrick (30–5) powered through the 165‑pound bracket, finishing third and advancing to state through the wrestle‑back process.

Warrick opened with a tech fall over Ames’ James Headrick before falling in the semifinals to Ankeny’s Calvin Rathjen.

He bounced back with another tech fall—this time in just 1:20—over Carlisle’s Keegan Blondowski, then defeated Brayden Crosser of DC-G 8–2 for third.

Rathjen won the second‑place wrestle‑back by no‑contest, securing Warrick’s state qualification.

Several Toreadors also delivered competitive performances.

Tate Hollenkamp at 144 and Trent Eckard at 175 both finished in 4th place.

Aiden Harris at 113 had a first‑round tech fall, and Ashten Peterson at 157 at Hayden Nerem at 215 each had one pin.

Both Mason Oostenink at 120 and Macon Robinson at 190 also competed for Boone.

Compete results were previously posted to kwbg.com

Landas, Braddock, Thomas and Warrick now prepare for the Iowa High School State Wrestling Championships at the Casey’s Center in Des Moines, where they will represent Boone beginning Wednesday afternoon.
