Gloria Stiles, 82, Boone, Iowa
BOONE, Iowa—Gloria A. Stiles, age 82, of Boone, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at the Boone County Hospital in Boone.
Gloria was born on March 23, 1944, in Boone, the daughter of A. Ben and Ruby (Williams) Elsberry. In 1962, she graduated from Grand Community School in Boxholm.
She was united in marriage to Danny Stiles on April 30, 1966, in Boone. To this union two sons were born, Randy and Brian.
Gloria worked at Bourns in Ames from 1964-1983. She then worked the night shift part time at Iowa State University in the medical center. From 1988 to 1998, she helped Danny at their shop, Stiles Fix It Shop and then she stayed at home to take care of her mother.
Gloria collected and some may say she had an addiction to anything M&Ms, she currently has collected around 3500 pieces. She enjoyed taking trips with Danny, cross stitch, scrapbooking and most of all spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, A. Ben and Ruby Elsberry; in-laws, John M. and Florence M. Stiles; brother, Larry Elsberry and two brothers-in-law, Donald Stiles and George Boyd.
Gloria is survived by her husband of 60 years, Danny Stiles of Boone; two sons, Randy (Megan) Stiles of Boone and Brian “Boomer” Stiles of Boone; two granddaughters, Anah (David) Cosner of Colfax and Kathryn Stiles of Boone; a sister, Jan (Dick) Zimbeck of Nixa, MO; sisters-in-law, Jackie Stiles of Dodgeville, WI and Charlotte Boyd of Boone; and several nieces and nephews.
Following Gloria’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
