
Isaac Clark set a new school record in the 100-yard butterfly as the Boone boys’ swim team finished third overall at the Larry White Invitational at Southeast Polk High School Tuesday, December 16.
The Toreadors finished with 254 points behind Waukee (292) and host Southeast Polk (278).
Clark clocked 52.83 in the 100 fly, breaking the 18-year-old mark of 54.13 previously held by Sean Hagan, who went on to swim at the University of Iowa.
Clark also dominated the 50-yard freestyle, winning in 21.42, and anchored Boone’s relays to top finishes.
Boone claimed first in the 400 free relay in 3:18.50 with Carson Mueggenberg, Simon Enabnit, Brady Hyman and Isaac Clark.
The 200 free relay of Hyman, Clark, Mueggenberg and Isaac Winey finished second in 1:29.67.
The 200 medley relay placed third in 1:48.29 with Winey, Calvin Cook, Enabnit and Cooper Jensen.
Individually, Brady Hyman was 3rd in the 200 Free (1:56.63) and 7th in the 100 Free (52.25).
Simon Enabnit ended 3rd in the 200 IM (2:13.13), 9th in the 100 free (53.24).
Carson Mueggenberg finished 4th in the 100 free (50.01) and 5th in the 50 free (22.61).
Cooper Jensen placed 4th in the 100 fly (58.51) and 3rd in the 100 back (1:00.42).
Calvin Cook was 4th in the 500 free (5:35.94) and 8th in the 100 breast (1:09.57).
Other contributors included Tristan Bierwagen, who ended 9th in 200 free in 1:56.63 and 11th in 100 back in 1:09.64, Gabe VanDyke, who placed 11th in 200 free in 2:17.37, and Wes Schuler, who was 13th in 200 IM in 2:38.41 and 10th in 100 breast 1:12.66.
Additionally, Oscar Miller ended 8th in 500 free in 5:56.21, Caleb Bartlett finished 9th in 500 free in 6:04.86), Bryan Anderson placed 10th in 100 fly in 1:05.16) and Pearson Lampe was 14th in 100 breast in 1:18.66.

Boone now holds an overall record of 14-7 and remains unbeaten in duals at 2-0.
The Toreadors return to action at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, December 18, at Carroll in a triangular against Carroll and Atlantic.
