BOONE, Iowa—Students from the Iowa State University Landscape Architecture Department held a public presentation of work they’ve done to assist the Boone Park Board with ideas for some long range planning. The public presentation was held Wednesday evening at the main shelter house at McHose Park. Student used information from a survey that was conducted over the summer and met with students from Boone Schools. They visited with 4th graders from Franklin, and with both Middle School and High School students.
Student presentations covered ideas and possible future projects for trails, both walking and biking, natural park areas, conservation practices, food projects ranging from community gardens to a pumpkin patch, art projects and more. The information will be used by the Park Board as they plan for future improvements and capital projects for the Boone Parks.

Design students explain their concept for the Parks Department to the public and respond to questions. The attendee’s were asked to prioritize concepts to help complete the project.
