IUB Establishes Webinar Option For Alliant Energy Rate Increase Meetings

KWBG 05/01/19

DES MOINES, Iowa—Alliant Energy-Interstate Power and Light Company (Alliant) filed applications with the Iowa Utilities Board proposing increases in retail electric and natural gas rates for customers in seven classes.

The IUB scheduled ten public comment meetings in April and May regarding the rate requests.  The meetings, scheduled throughout Alliant’s Iowa service territory, providing an opportunity for Alliant customers to express their views about the proposed rate increases and to comment on the overall quality of Alliant’s service.  Representatives of Alliant, the IUB and the Office of Consumer Advocate are slated to be present at the meetings to hear public comments and answer questions.  The Office of Consumer Advocate represents the general interests of customers in all IUB proceedings.

There are eight remaining customer comment meetings and the IUB has made available an option for customers to participate remotely via an online webinar for six of those meetings.  Space is limited for webinar access so participants are asked to register in advance at https://register.gotowebinar.com/rt/6624274281737779468.

Complete information on the increase requests may be viewed in the IUB’s Electronic Filing system (EFS) under Docket No. RPU-2019-0001 (electric) and RPU-2019-0002 (natural gas).

All comments provided at the public meetings, or submitted in writing to the IUB, will become part of the permanent record in the rate cases.
