Iver Oppedahl, 86, Boone, Iowa
BOONE, Iowa—Iver P. Oppedahl, 86, of Boone, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Westhaven Community in Boone.
Iver was born on October 24, 1939 in Stanhope, the son of Gilbert and Berneice (Hove) Oppedahl.
Iver graduated from Boone High School in 1958. After graduation, he started working as a welder for Quinn Machine and Foundry in Boone and stayed until his retirement. Iver was a long-time member of Za-Ga-Zig Shriners in Pilot Mound, and Augustana Lutheran Church in Boone. He enjoyed riding motorcycles.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Janice Dickerson; two brothers, Lloyd Oppedahl and James Oppedahl.
Iver is survived by his siblings, Jo Ann Tolyan of Boone, David L. (Janice) Oppedahl of Boone, and Suzanne Oppedahl of Ames; and several nieces and nephews.
Following Iver’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held.
