KWBG 04/13/22

BOONE, Iowa—Jo Anne (Rinnels) Bergloff, age 84 of Boone, passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at her home with family by her side.

Jo Anne was born on September 10, 1937 in Sheffield, IA, the daughter of Herman and Edna (Kriens) Rinnels. She graduated from Dumont High School.

Following high school, Jo Anne was united in marriage with George Card. From this union were three children, Terry, Tim and Deb. The couple later separated.

On November 1, 1974, Jo Anne was united in marriage with Paul Bergloff in Sioux Falls, SD. Jo Anne worked alongside Paul at their gun shop, P & J Guns. They were two peas in a pod. Jo Anne and Paul enjoyed traveling together.

Jo Anne was a selfless, caring woman. She was up at 4 AM to make sure Paul had coffee and loved to cook everyone breakfast (famous for the thick pancakes). She enjoyed mushroom hunting and she cooked the best morel mushrooms. Jo Anne was Paul’s caregiver at the end of his life, until his passing in 2010. She adored time with her family and would do anything to help her kids and grandkids.

Jo Anne was also known for the tight ship she ran; The house was clean and tidy and everything was ironed. She cleaned a few homes in her “spare time”. She faithfully went to her hair appointment every Friday. Jo Anne enjoyed going to casinos and playing BINGO, dancing and (if you ask the grandkids) to drive FAST!

Joanne was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul in 2010; son, Terry Card; and siblings, Hilda Tuitjer, Jasper Rinnels, Sara Still, Bill Rinnels, Fredrick Rinnels and Mattie Turnbow.

She is survived by her daughter, Deb (Randy) McIntyre; son, Tim (Tracey) Card; grandchildren, Jeff Chamberlin, Jenny Chamberlin, Joni Chamberlin, Jill Chamberlin, Blake Drury, Brittnie Card, Blaire Card, Adam Card and Brandon Card; great grandchildren, Hunter, Gage, Claire, Austin, Blaine, Chase, Dayne, Grace, Clayton, Lily and Ledger; and siblings, Ray (Cheryl) Rinnels, Donnie (Linda) Rinnels and Floyd Rinnels.
