Joyce Busch

KWBG 10/24/23

BOONE, Iowa—Joyce Ruth Busch, daughter of Harold and Glenna (Worden) McGinnis, was born November 29, 1951 in Hampton, Iowa. She passed away on October 22, 2023 at Northridge Village in Ames, Iowa with family by her side at the age of 71 years.

Joyce grew up in the Boone area and graduated from United Community in Boone, Iowa. On March 14,
1970, she was united in marriage to Tracy Lee Busch at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Boone, Iowa.
They were the proud parents of three children: Sheri, Cory, and Kelli.

First and foremost, Joyce was a proud farmer’s wife and had a hand in all of the farming tasks. She was the most organized #1 bookkeeper. Throughout the years, she worked at Randalls Grocery Store,
Hawkeye Savings Bank, Jordan & Mahoney Law Office, Total Choice Shipping at Boone Napa and Boone
Hardware until she retired in September of 2017. She however stayed involved with the family farm,
doing her and Tracy’s bookwork until the end.

Joyce was a member of Sacred Heart Church of Boone, Iowa as well as the Altar Society. She was a
longtime worker for Elections. She was also a past member of the Boone Athletic Boosters. She enjoyed
coaching youth softball, watching her grandchildren’s activities, gardening, canning, going to NASCAR
races, traveling with friends, and Jeep rides. She loved chocolate, especially plain M&M’s, but none of
these activities would happen if her lawn wasn’t first done to perfection. Christmas time was her
favorite holiday, so she could display her giant snowman and spend time with her family.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Glenna McGinnis, her in-laws, George and
Madilyn Busch, and her brother-in-law Dennis Adreon. She is survived by her husband Tracy Busch; her
children: Sheri (Jeff) Butler of Eldora, IA, Cory (Christie) Busch of Boone, IA, and Kelli (Greg) Flynn of
Boone, IA; her grandchildren: Tysen Butler, Dane Butler, Beau Butler, Chandler Busch, Carly Busch,
Quinten Niles, and Gavin Niles; her sister Beverley Adreon of Boxholm, IA; her brother Harlan (Georgian)
McGinnis of Monterey, CA; Brothers-in-law: Greg (Barb) Busch of Rockford, IA, Joe (Po) Busch of Boone,
IA, and Marty (Jody) Busch of Boone, IA; sister-in-law Lori Burma of Boone, IA; lots of nieces and
nephews; other relatives; and many friends.

Visitation with the family present to greet friends will be from 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, October
26, 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 915 12th Street, Boone, Iowa. A Memorial Mass will be held
at 10:30 am Friday, October 27, 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 915 12th Street, Boone, Iowa with
Fr. Tim Johnson officiating. A luncheon will be served immediately following the Memorial Mass in the
Sacred Heart Catholic Church Fellowship Hall. A private burial will take place at Busch Cemetery, Boone
County, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or the ALS
Association.

Schroeder-Stark-Welin Funeral Home, 609 7th Street, Boone, Iowa is assisting the family. Online
condolences may be left at www.schroederfuneral.com.
