Judy Batt

KWBG 09/29/21

NEW PORT RICHEY, Florida—Funeral arrangements have been set for 68 year old Judy Ann Batt of New Port Richey, Florida, formerly of Boone, Iowa. She passed away, after a long term battle with Ovarian Cancer and a recent bout with COVID, on September, 28, 2021 at her home with her husband and beagle Maddie by her side. Judy’s wishes were to be cremated.

Judy was born on June 30, 1953 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Ralph Robert Little and Lois Irene (Yates) Little of Palo, Iowa.

Judy was employed at Jack’s retail store in Cedar Rapids, later moving to Boone where she worked at Cub Foods in Ames for 20 years. She finished her working career at the Boone Bank and Trust Co., in Boone where she retired on her 65th birthday.

She was a former member of ABATE of Iowa, the Moose, the American Legion Auxiliary and the VFW Auxiliary.

Judy loved her family, her dogs, motorcycle riding, firing her hand gun where she earned the nickname “John Wick” by a local range and especially camping.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents.

Judy leaves behind her husband Donald Jon Batt, (formerly of Boone, IA), her daughters Jacqueline L. McGrane (Center Point, IA), Amanda Rae Steenhoek (Randall, IA), Ronald Skyler Steenhoek (Boone, IA) and Christopher Edward Steenhoek (Center Point, IA), her brother and sister-in-law Robert Charles Little and Patricia Little (Palo, IA), many cousins, nieces, nephews and an array of friends. Judy was loved by all.

There will be a private family funeral ceremony at a later date.

The family would like to recognize their caring neighbors and friends and the Gulfside Hospice team in Land O’ Lakes, Florida for their support and care given to Judy and family.

Since there will not be a visitation, condolences and fond memories can be sent, in care of Judy Ann Batt, to the Thomas B. Dobies Funeral Home – Seven Springs Chapel. 8825 Old County Rd 54, New Port Richey, FL 34653.
