BOONE, Iowa—Karon L. (Elliott) Rose, 81, of Boone, passed away suddenly, Monday, August 25, 2025, at the Boone County Hospital.
She was born November 5, 1943, in Boone, the daughter of Dewayne and Loretta (Harden) Elliott. Karon attended school in Boone and graduated from Boone High School in 1961.
Karon was united in marriage to Denny Rose on February 14, 1987, in Arizona. After Denny retired from the military, they made their home in Boone. Karon was a proud member of TOPS and the Red Hat Society. She had an extensive salt and pepper shaker collection, which started when she inherited all of her mother’s collection. Karon enjoyed fishing, camping, travelling, and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Todd Gibler and brother, Gary D. Elliott.
Karon is survived by her husband of 38 years, Denny Rose; three children, Jeffrey Anderson, Kimberly (Martin) Murray and Lisa (Rusty) Crouse; step-son, Joseph Rose; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and sister-in-law, Karen Elliott.
Cremation has taken place and a private service will be held at a later date.
