JEFFERSON, Iowa—The Heart of Iowa Habitat for Humanity announces Jeff Lamoureux’s resignation as Executive Director. Lamoureux’s last day with Habitat was January 28th.
Jeff was offered and accepted the position as Executive Director for the Iowa Turfgrass Institute. He served as Executive Director at Heart of Iowa Habitat for the last three years, and served an additional four as the Associate Director before that. During his time as Executive Director, Heart of Iowa Habitat built two homes and had over 15 Helping Hands repair projects completed in Greene and Guthrie Counties all while navigating volunteers and staff through the challenges of a pandemic.
Lamoureux was the Heart of Iowa’s first Associate Director and was instrumental in developing the affiliates expansion in Guthrie County in 2015. Since his start with Habitat, over 50 families were assisted with home repairs in Greene and Guthrie Counties along with a home rehabilitation in Greene County.
Lamoureux shared, “I will take with me many fond memories and cherish the relationships built while working towards Habitat’s vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live. I wish staff and volunteers continued success in advancing the Christian mission of Habitat for Humanity.”
The Affiliate Board of Directors have appointed Lindsay Lynch to fill Jeff’s role as Executive Director. Lindsay has been with Habitat since 2019 and previously served as the Associate Director working mainly in Boone County.
Although Jeff will be missed, the Board of Directors is excited to use this opportunity to assess it’s practices and develop a vision for the future to best serve the communities we represent while continuing to provide safe, affordable housing.
