
The Ogden girls’ track and field team had two individuals place second in three events Friday, March 13, at the Iowa Association of Track Coaches indoor meet, held at the Lied Recreation Center on the campus of Iowa State University in Ames.
Field events
In the high jump, senior Samantha Lass cleared 5‑01.00 to secure second place
Senior Taydem Graden placed second in the long jump, landing at 17‑04.25.
Sophomore Alena Wilson added a jump of 13‑01.00.
Junior Anna Wilson rounded out Ogden’s field-event efforts, throwing 28‑09.75 in the shot put.
Hurdle events
After running 10.04 in prelims to advance, Graden surged to a second‑place finish in the 60‑meter hurdles final with a time of 9.57 seconds.
Fellow seniors Sydney King (10.48) and Hazel Friedrichsen (10.73) also delivered strong preliminary runs.
Running events
In the 60‑meter dash, sophomore Sophie Seligman and senior Breaunna Wenger finished side‑by‑side, each recording identical times of 8.57 seconds.
Junior Aubrey Leonard clocked 8.68 seconds.
Freshman Dakota Jones placed 13th in the 800 meters with a time of 2:33.56.
In the 400 meters, Lass finished 16th in 1:05.14.
Relays
Ogden’s Sprint Medley Relay finished in 6th place in 1:57.54 (Leonard, Alena Wilson, King, Lass).
The Shuttle Hurdle Relay ended in 9th place in 43.64 (Friedrichsen, King, Leonard, Graden).
The 4×100 Relay was 10th overall in 53.02 (Leonard, Friedrichsen, Seligman, King).
Finally, the 4×400 Relay finished in 20th place in 4:35.11 (Lass, Alena Wilson, Trinity Stoneburner, Jones).
The Ogden girls and boys next host a scrimmage with Boone, Perry and Woodward-Granger Tuesday, March 24, at Ogden High School.
