
Jen Le Mar won the shot put for the Boone girls’ track and field team Saturday, March 21, at the Central College Indoor Meet in Pella.
Le Mar captured the shot put title with a throw of 37 feet, 11 inches.
Teammate Maleah Shivers added a seventh‑place finish at 34‑01.
In the other field events, Ainsley Powell cleared 4‑06 in the high jump, while Taylor Arringdale recorded 14‑03.25 in the long jump to place 14th in the event standings.
Middle distance events
Reagan Morgan delivered two of the top individual running marks of the day, placing sixth in the 3000-meter run with a time of 11:40.44 and also placing seventh in the 1500-meter run in 5:21.37.
In the 800-meter run, Finley Houser finished 11th in 2:42.37, followed by Bry Morgan in 2:50.02.
In the 400-meter dash, Houser was 12th in 1:07.77 followed by Bry Morgan (1:07.77) and Quinn Houston (1:12.84).
Sprint and hurdle events
Abi Leu led Boone’s sprinters in the 100-meter dash with a 13.5.
Makenzie Klatt (14.30), Kyra Darby (14.24) and Tala Wittrock (14.26) were among Boone’s top finishers in the 100.
In the 200, Makenzie Klatt turned in a 29.17, placing 37th in a large field.
Arringdale (29.18), Wittrock (29.43) and Leu (30.24) were among Boone’s top finishers in the 200.
The 4×400 team—Bry Morgan, Darby, Houser and Klatt—closed the meet with a solid 4:47.26, finishing 11th overall.
The 4×100-meter relay team of Leu, Halle Bailey, Arringdale and Delaney Good ran 55.00.
In the 100-meter hurdles, Leu placed 24th in 18.63, and Jenna Johnson ran a 21.54.

The Boone girls will compete in a scrimmage against Perry, Woodward-Granger and Ogden at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, at Ogden High School.
