BOONE, Iowa—Linda Ann Herrick, 80, of Boone, Iowa, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2025, at Westhaven Community in Boone. She had been a resident of Westhaven Community since 2020. She was born on October 1, 1944, in Boone, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Donna (Daniel) Larson.
Linda was a graduate of Boone High School. Following her graduation, she married Earl Herrick on April 3, 1965, at the Mineral Ridge Church. She then attended DMACC and earned a secretarial degree. She worked for the Iowa D.O.T. for over 25 years in the Department of Project Planning. Linda made many friends during her time at the D.O.T. she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Boone for over 50 years.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Herrick; parents, Charles Larson and Donna Larson-Johnson; step-father, Homer Johnson; brother, Richard Larson; sister, Linda Rae Randall; and nephew, Jodi Larson.
She is survived by her daughters, Wendi Herrick of Des Moines, IA, and Amy Peterson of Boone, IA; son, Mike Herrick of Boone, IA; step-daughter, Tammy Herrick of North Carolina, and her family; grandchildren: Ian (Paige) Herrick, Johnathan (Emma) Herrick, Rome (Cecelia) Peterson, Dan Peterson, and Tyric Peterson; great-granddaughter, Vidalia; sister, Jody (Tom) Herman of Des Moines, IA; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at Schroeder-Stark-Welin Funeral Home in Boone, with Pastor Janell Bloem officiating. Inurnment will be at Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone following the memorial service. Visitation with the family present to greet friends will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at Schroeder-Stark-Welin Funeral Home.
