The 9th ranked Madrid Tigers qualified for their first ever state tournament with a 70-54 win over #8 Baxter on Saturday night in Huxley. The Tigers lead from tipoff to final horn. 18-8 after one quarter, 32-23 at halftime, and 46-40 after three quarters. Madrid held Baxter leading scorer Carson Scroggins to 9 points (11 under his average) Madrid was led by Toryn Severson with 22pts, Jackson Newell with 14, Brody Buck with 13, 11 for Fabian Ortiz Alaniz and 10 for Kadyn Severson. Madrid improves to 22-2 on the season and will play March the 6th at 2pm vs #2 North Linn.
