The Madrid boys track team competed at the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Early Bird Meet Thursday, March 26, in Adel.
Field events
Jevyn Severson placed second in the shot put with a throw of 51‑05.00 and finished fourth in the discus with a throw of 138‑09.
In the long jump, Loken Velky placed fourth with a leap of 18‑06.00.
Distance and relay events
Madrid earned two top‑five finishes in the boys 3200‑meter run, led by Cavin Pehl, who placed fourth in 11:00.43 and Hudson White, who followed in fifth with 11:19.21.
Madrid also produced a pair of top‑five results in the 800-meter run, with Henry Hudnall finishing fourth in 2:16.90 and Kris Petersen placing fifth in 2:20.74.
Rounding out the meet, the 4×400-meter relay team of Jake Sawyer, Hudnall, Petersen and Pehl finished fourth in 3:47.48.
