
The Madrid Tigers boys’ basketball team scored a 61-51 West Central Conference home victory over West Central Valley Monday, February 2.
Madrid set the tone early, leading 16–11 after one quarter then extending the advantage to 38–28 at halftime.
The Tigers carried a 52–43 lead into the fourth and maintained it down the stretch to close out their ninth conference win.
Jevyn Severson powered Madrid with 20 points on 8‑for‑13 shooting while going 4‑for‑6 at the line.
He also posted a double‑double with 10 rebounds, added a steal and had six assists.
Logan Bogardus scored 15 points, including 4‑of‑6 from three‑point range.
He added three free throws and chipped in two assists.
Emerson Bridgewater added 10 points on 5‑for‑12 shooting and collected eight rebounds, including two offensive boards.
He also contributed five assists.
Kolbie Owens grabbed three rebounds, had a steal, and added two assists.
Max Fowler provided three rebounds.
Madrid improved to 14–4 overall and 9–3 in conference play.
West Central Valley is now 12–7 overall and 5–7 in the conference.
Madrid is back in action tonight at home, hosting Ogden in a West Central Conference doubleheader with the girls at 6:15 p.m. and the boys at approximately 7:30 p.m.
