
The Madrid Tigers boys’ basketball team fell to Des Moines Christian, 57–46, in a West Central Conference game Friday, January 16, at Madrid High School.
Jevyn Severson led the Tigers with 19 points, shooting 7-of-10 from the field and adding 5-of-8 at the free‑throw line.
Severson also contributed 7 rebounds (3 offensive), 2 blocks and a steal.
Emerson Bridgewater added 10 points and grabbed 7 rebounds, including 3 offensive boards, while also collecting 2 steals and 2 assists.
Logan Bogardus chipped in 8 points and knocked down four field goals.
Zach Newell hauled in 9 rebounds — with 4 on the offensive end — while adding 2 blocks and 2 assists.
Max Fowler finished with 4 assists and zero turnovers while Newell recorded 2 assists and no turnovers.
Madrid now sits at 10–4 overall and 5–3 in the West Central Conference.
The Tigers will hit the road for another conference matchup on Thursday, January 22, traveling to Woodward‑Granger (8–4, 2–3).
