
The No. 10 Madrid Tigers boys’ basketball team continued their late‑season surge Tuesday, February 10, powering past Adair‑Casey/Guthrie Center, 80–59, in a West Central Conference matchup at ACGC High School.
Madrid came out firing, racing to a 25–15 lead after the first quarter, and the Tigers carried that momentum into the second quarter, extending their advantage to 43–28 at halftime.
Madrid outscored ACGC 19–11 in the quarter, stretching the lead to 62–39 and putting the game out of reach headed into the fourth quarter.
Jevyn Severson delivered 25 points on 11-of-14 shooting night while going 3-of-3 from the free‑throw line.
Severson controlled the glass as well, grabbing 15 rebounds, including 4 offensive, and added a steal.
Logan Bogardus scored 16 points, drilling 4-of-6 from beyond the arc and adding 7 rebounds and 2 offensive boards.
Emerson Bridgewater added 14 points, shooting 6-of-9 from the field, including a three-pointer.
Bridgewater also pulled down 4 rebounds, blocked two shots, and had 7 assists to just one turnover.
Max Fowler supplemented the scoring with 12 points, giving the Tigers four players in double figures.
Severson distributed 6 assists.
Kolbie Owens added 3 assists, and Bogardus added 3 assists, as well.
With the win, Madrid improves to 17–4 overall and 12–3 in the West Central Conference.
ACGC drops to 9–11 overall and 7–8 in the conference.
Madrid will open Class 1A district play on Monday, February 16, at 7 p.m., hosting the winner of the Colfax‑Mingo / Meskwaki Settlement matchup.
