
The Madrid Tigers boys’ basketball team cruised to an 83-57 victory over Ogden in a West Central Activities Conference matchup Friday, Jan. 2, at Ogden.
Madrid built a 23-14 lead after the first quarter and by halftime, the Tigers were firmly in control at 45-22.
They stretched the margin to 66-45 after three quarters.
The Tigers’ balanced attack featured four players in double figures, led by Jevyn Severson, who poured in 25 points on 10-of-16 shooting and added 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 offensive boards.
Emerson Bridgewater scored 18 points while grabbing 6 rebounds and dishing out 5 assists.
Logan Bogardus provided 17 points, including three triples, and Max Fowler chipped in 11 points, along with 6 rebounds and 4 assists.
For Ogden, Brayden Miller led the Bulldogs with 19 points and 9 rebounds, while Colson Carson and Jase Coleman added 10 points each.
With the win, Madrid improves to 6-2 overall, while Ogden falls to 0-10.
Madrid returns to action tonight, hosting Ankeny Christian (6-1) in a non-conference matchup.
The game will be broadcast live on KWBG FM 101.5, AM 1590, and streaming at kwbglive.com, with coverage starting at 6 p.m. for the girls’ game and approximately 7:30 p.m. for the boys.
Ogden will look to regroup Tuesday when they travel to Van Meter (4-4 overall, 4-1 conference).
