
The Madrid boys track and field team finished third overall with 93.5 points Friday, May 8, at the Ogden Co‑Ed Relays at Ogden High School.
Woodward-Granger claimed the team title with 144.5 points and host Ogden was second with 122 points.
Individual events
Tyler Sonnenfelt won the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.61 seconds and added a third‑place finish in the 100-meter dash in 11.29.
Cavin Pehl earned a first‑place finish in the 1600-meter run, crossing the line in 4:55.16, while teammate Hudson White followed closely in second in 5:02.21.
Will Atkinson won the 110‑meter hurdles in 16.28.
Kole Deppe was fifth and Drake Wanderscheid tied for sixth in the high jump with both clearing 5-02.00.
Brady Springer finished fifth in the long jump with his jump of 18-09.75.
Nick Milani placed fourth in the shot put with a throw of 40-01.75, and Evenou Viglo was fifth with a throw of 37-09.00.
Viglo placed fourth in the discus with a throw of 118-02, and Milani was fifth with a throw of 108-11.
Relay events
The Tigers claimed first place in the distance medley relay with Loken Velky, Deppe Kris Petersen and Henry Hudnall in 3:58.68.
Madrid placed second in the 4×100-meter relay with Velky, Easton Halverson, Mason Morman and Kinnick Grimm in 45.97.
The Tigers also finished second in the sprint medley relay with Landon Lenehan, Lyric Ortiz, Sawyer Springer and Dylan Fox in 1:44.51.
Madrid added a third‑place finish in the 4×400-meter relay with Jake Sawyer, Hudnall, Petersen and Corbin Furness in 3:45.69.
The Tigers had a sixth‑place finish in the 4×200-meter relay with Furness, Chase Perkins, Wanderscheid and Springer in 1:41.92.
