
The Madrid Tigers girls’ basketball team faced a tough challenge Friday, January 9, at home, falling 62–35 to No. 14 Adair‑Casey/Guthrie Center in a West Central Conference game.
Madrid’s offense was led by Lauren Dvorak and Laura Eagleton, who each scored 10 points.
Dvorak hit 3-of-7 from the field, including a three‑pointer, and added 3-of-6 at the line, while Eagleton knocked down 5 field goals and contributed on the boards with 6 rebounds and 5 steals.
Samantha Springer added 8 points, connecting on two three‑pointers.
Dvorak anchored the glass with 8 rebounds, including 4 offensive boards, and chipped in a block and a steal.
Audrey Brown added 5 rebounds and led the team with 2 assists.
The Tigers now sit at 7–5 overall and 2–5 in the West Central Conference, while ACGC improved to 8–2 overall and 6–1 in league play.
Madrid will face another major test when they host No. 2 Des Moines Christian on Friday, January 16 at 6:15 p.m.
