
A dominant first quarter set the tone Tuesday, February 3, as Madrid raced past Ogden, 47–26, in a West Central Conference matchup at Madrid High School.
The Tigers opened the game on a 26–6 run and never looked back.
Madrid’s fast start continued into halftime, where the Tigers led 37–14.
Then the Tigers extended the margin to 42–20 after three quarters before sealing the win.
For Madrid, Laura Eagleton scored 20 points on 6‑for‑15 shooting while knocking down four three‑pointers.
Eagleton also added four rebounds, two steals, and two offensive boards.
Mayzie Surratt delivered 13 points, including 3‑for‑7 from beyond the arc, and went 2‑for‑2 at the free‑throw line.
Surratt also grabbed four rebounds, two of them offensive.
Lauren Dvorak finished with eight points on 3‑for‑4 shooting and pulling down a game‑high 18 rebounds—including five offensive boards.
She added three assists with no turnovers and two steals.
Samantha Springer totaled seven rebounds, five assists, and a steal, while Audrey Brown chipped in two assists.
For Ogden, Dakota Jones scored 9 points on three three‑pointers.
Layla Wells had 6 points on one 3‑pointer and one free throw.
Anna Wilson scored 4 points on two free throws and a field goal.
Lauren Mathews had 3 points on a made three, and Grace Christensen scored 2 points.
Madrid improved to 10–9 overall and 4–9 in league play, while Ogden dropped to 2–18 overall and 0–13 in the conference.
The Tigers return home Friday, February 6, for Senior Night, hosting Interstate 35 (7–11, 3–9) at 6:15 p.m.
The Bulldogs travel Friday to face Earlham (15–4, 10–2) in another West Central Conference matchup.
