The Madrid Tigers girls’ basketball team saw its postseason run come to an end Tuesday, February 17, falling to Hinton, 67–20, in a Class 2A Region 3 matchup at Hinton High School.
Senior Laura Eagleton closed her high school career scoring 15 of Madrid’s 20 points.
Eagleton shot 4-of-9 from the field, knocked down three 3-pointers, and finished a perfect 4-of-4 at the line while also contributing an assist and a rebound.
Sophomore Rylee Borcherding added 3 points on 1-of-3 shooting from beyond the arc, while senior Lauren Dvorak scored 2 points and grabbed 4 rebounds, adding a block and an assist in her final game.
Freshman Mayzie Surratt led the Tigers with 5 rebounds.
Senior Samantha Springer added a rebound, a block, and a steal.
Junior Audrey Brown contributed 1 rebound and 2 assists.
With the win, Hinton improves to 18–1 and moves on in regional tournament play.
Madrid concludes its season at 11–12 overall and 4–11 in the West Central Activities Conference.

Eagleton finished with 332 points, averaging 15.1 points per game.
She shot 43% on field goals and was 32.9% from the three-point line.
Eagleton ended with 90 rebounds and 4.1 rebounds per game.
Dvorak finished with 211 points, averaging 9.2 points per game.
She shot 43.6% on field goals.
Dvorak ended with 248 rebounds, averaging 10.8 rebounds per game.
She averaged 3.3 offensive and 7.5 defensive rebounds per game.
Mayzie Surratt finished with 156 points, averaging 6.8 points per game.
She shot 36.7% on field goals, was 29.3% on 3-pointers and shot 76.5% from the free throw line.
Surratt ended with 91 rebounds, averaging 4 rebounds per game.
She also finished with 34 assists, averaging 1.5 assists per game.
Brown ended with 64 assists, averaging 2.9 assists per game and a 0.8 assist to turnover ratio.
Springer finished with 50 assists, averaging 2.2 assists per game and a 0.5 assist to turnover ratio.
