03/09/26

Officer spoke with Boone County dispatch, who passed on an email received from DCI, on a safety warning, on a Madrid resident.

Officer was dispatched just outside the city limits on Highway 210, for a medical call.  Officer assisted Madrid Fire/Rescue on the call. 

Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of Fairview Lane for an incomplete 911 call.  Officer made contact with the residence owner, who stated that it was phone problems.  He stated that he would call his provider to get the issue addressed.

Officer was called to the 300 block of 1st Street (Highway 210) for a stalled vehicle blocking the roadway.  Officer was unable to locate the owner.  Officer called Ritter Towing who removed the vehicle.

Officer assisted Madrid Fire with a utility pole on fire at 315th Street and Highway 17.

Officer assisted Madrid Rescue with a Medical call in the 500 block of Milwaukee Street.

Officer was visited at the police department by a Madrid resident curious to if an email she received was a scam, Officer was able to determine the email was a scam in a attempt to gain the residents information. She was advised not to reply to the email.

Officer received a voice mail in the police department phone regarding dogs whining in the 300 block of East 1st Street. Caller was concerned they were not being attended to properly. Officer drove through the area several times and could not hear any dogs whining.   

03/10/26

Officer received a parking complaint on Fairview Drive.   Caller stated that there is a truck filled with garbage parked away from the curb, parked in a bad spot for night travelers.  The truck was moved onto private property when the officer checked on it.  Officer will keep on eye on it to make sure it does not sit long.  Junk vehicle ordinances will start being served again when the weather warms up.

Officer spoke to a Madrid resident about concerns with a family members ex.  Officer and caller exchanged information on the subject and ways to keep everyone safe.    

Officer attempted to locate a subject in the 900 block of South Kennedy Avenue, to pass on a message from the school district.  Officer did not find anyone home.  Officer left a voicemail for the subject to return the call.

Officer met with a High School student and answered questions in reference to a homework assignment.

Officer returned a call from a message left on the PD phone and spoke to a female requesting a civil stand-by.  Since the residence was in Polk County, the officer gave her the phone number for their dispatch to set this up with them.

Officers assisted Boone County Ambulance with a lift assist with back injuries, in the 300 block of West North Street.  Patient was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Officer preformed a traffic stop in the 800 block of South Kennedy; Driver was warned for speed.

Officer preformed a vehicle unlock for a Madrid resident in the Casey’s parking lot.

Officer received a phone call from a concerned Madrid resident regarding juveniles riding mini-bikes on 22nd Street just off Highway 17. Officer was unable to locate juveniles riding the bikes.

03/11/26

Officer returned a call to a Madrid resident in reference to restrictions on building a fire pit on her property.  Officer gave her the requirements of what can be burned and the structure around it.

Officer met with a Madrid resident that turned in a set of lost/found keys.  If you are missing a set with a very nice key rind with a message that says “heart mom” afterwards, they can be claimed at the Madrid Police Department.

Officer received a complaint of a black car parked downtown in the 100 block of South Water Street, for a couple weeks.  The vehicle had no plates on it.  Officer tagged the vehicle for removal. 

Officer responded to the area of Edgewood Park on a report of suspicious juveniles wearing masks and chasing other juveniles. When officer arrived in the area all juveniles were gone.

03/12/26

Officer received a report of a dog that had been picked up that had been running loose.  Dog was dropped off at Madrid Police Department and the owner was located and picked up.

03/13/26

Officer responded to an alarm call downtown, determined to be weather related.

Officer responded to the Meadow Estates Park for a house fire. The Fire Department quickly extinguished the fire with minimal damage to the home.

Officer performed a welfare check on a juvenile in the Meadow Estates, they were found to be ok.

Officer preformed a vehicle unlock for a Madrid resident at Edgewood Park.

Officer assisted Madrid Fire/Rescue, with a medical call at the Madrid home.

Officer took a report of a man who was panhandling near Dollar General, Officer did not find anyone matching the description. 

03/14/26

Officer performed a traffic stop, North of Madrid on Highway 17. The driver was warned for not having proper taillights.

Officer was dispatched to the Flat Tire for a report of several thefts that happening during the night. While the Officer was present, one of the items was brought back. Officer with the help of one of the victims was able to track down the stolen cell phone and the missing set of keys that belonged to a female from out of state. Officer advised the female from out of state her keys will be kept at the Madrid Police Department, until she can pick them up.

Officer took a report of a male going door to door on North Union Street. The caller was not sure if the salesman had a solicitor’s permit. Officer checked the area and around town, but was unable to locate the subject.
