09/28/26
Officer assisted an Iowa State Trooper, who needed past information on a Madrid resident, going through the hiring process. Officer sent the information requested after speaking with the Boone County Dispatch.
Officer checked on two individuals, at 9th and South State, that appeared to be going door-to-door. The subjects were posting political information and did not fall under the city ordinance for a vendor’s license.
Officer received information from the State of Iowa, in reference to paperwork that needed served to a local business. The officer served the notice to the manager. A short time later the State messaged back and lifted the paperwork due to the owner doing what was needed to be done.
Officer assisted a neighboring agency with searching for a wanted person. At the time of this report, officer was unable to locate the individual within Madrid.
Officer responded to the area just north of the high school on a suspicious vehicle with its hazards on. It turned out to be a farm tractor that had its hazards/whoopie light left on.
09/29/26
Officer ran stationary radar on Highway 17 by 22nd Street. Officer performed a traffic stop after he heard and saw a vehicle driving recklessly. Officer spoke to the young driver in reference to his driving and warned him for his actions.
Officer spoke to a Madrid resident on West 5th street. He reported that he gets home from work around 3:30am on Sunday morning, and the past two weeks, he has had a maroon-colored SUV, possibly a Suburban, parked outside his house for a short period, before pulling away. Officers will give the area extra patrol and he will attempt to get more vehicle information if it occurs again.
Officer responded to Greater Love Ministries on a minor two vehicle accident. A driver’s exchange was completed and provided to both parties.
Officer responded to the 100 block of North Main Street, on a vehicle unlock.
Officer responded to the 100 block of North Main Street, on a barking dog. Dog had been taken inside prior to arrival.

Officer spoke to a Madrid resident, about a bike and UTV ride that will be coming to town on October 10th, and shared information on the events.
Officer spoke to a local landlord about issues that he was having with a tenant. Officer spoke to him about the eviction process and informed him to follow-up with his attorney with any other civil issue questions.
Officer was dispatched to a semi on Highway 17 doing a poor job of driving. Officer located the vehicle and stopped it for speeding as it entered the city. The driver was warned for the driving infraction.
Officer was dispatched to Casey’s for a vehicle unlock. Officer was able to unlock the work van without incident.
Officer received a dispatch regarding a reckless driver, Officer was able to find the vehicle in Madrid and perform a welfare check, Driver was OK.
Officer performed a stand-by for a civil process between landlord and tenant, everything went fine and Officer left the scene so landlord could change the locks.

Officer was dispatched to return a call to a subject in reference to a violation of a no contact order. Officer spoke to the subject who stated that a couple other agencies are working cases against this same individual. Officer asked the subject to send the third-party text messages to the department cell phone so that he could speak to the County Attorney and see who the charges need to run through, since they were sent to a subject in another jurisdiction.
Officer was called to a vehicle unlock on Johnathan Drive. Due to the security system of the new vehicle, the officer was unable to unlock it. Officer called the dealer who stated that they could cut a door key and provided the owner with all the information that they needed in order to do so.
Officer spoke to a new landlord in the city and exchanged information in case there are issues at his building.
Officer assisted Madrid Fire/Resue, with a smoke alarm in the 200 block of Park View Lane

Officer unlocked a vehicle on Kingman Blvd.
Officer responded to the 700 block of West 1st Street, on a medical call. An investigation was done on scene.
Officer responded to the Madrid High School on a vehicle unlock.
Officers assisted with traffic control at the high school following the completion of the football game, however had to break away for the following call.
Officers responded and positioned to intercept a reported very large group of reckless drivers. Polk County dispatch advised Boone County to be prepared for multiple reports of reckless driving as approximately 50 vehicles known to do street take-overs and commit other related criminal acts were reported on Highway 415 and believed to be continuing North through Madrid on 17. Officers overtly positioned units on the south edge of the city and observed multiple vehicles come through without incident.

Officer responded to the area of West 1st and Locust Street, on a noise complaint. Nearby party-goers agreed to partake in quieter hootin’ and hollerin’ for the remainder of the evening.
Officer responded to Maverick Lane for an open line 911 call. Officer determined it to be children playing with a phone.
Officer unlocked a vehicle at the Cedars.
Officer located a vehicle illegally parked on West 1st Street causing a bit of a traffic bottleneck. Officer located the owner and had it promptly removed.

Officer assisted with a medical call at the Cedars.
Officer effected an arrest on a resident who wished to take care of an outstanding warrant issued by a neighboring county. Custody was transferred to that county without incident.
