04/20/26

Officer spoke to a Madrid resident, who was involved in an accident over the weekend, and walked him through the steps of making the claim. 

Officer received two complaints of properties that have junk vehicles and other ordinance violations on them on North State and North Union Streets.  Officer will be starting the Spring clean-up campaign and serving notices to several properties in the city.  Please start making plans to clean-up since the weather is starting to get nice.  Officer left business cards on both property’s doors.

Officer received a request to pull a past report of a house fire in town. 

Officer followed up on an inspection for a city ordinance and inspected the structure so that he could report back to the city council. 

Officer attended the Stop Human Trafficking presentation at the Madrid High School Gym.

04/21/26

Officer met with a Madrid resident who turned in a lost/found debit card located at Git N Go.  Officer returned the property to the owner.

Officer spoke to a subject that was involved in an accident in the city and needed a copy of an accident report.  Officer forwarded him the information. 

Officer spoke to a Madrid resident reference a scam text that he received saying that he had an unpaid traffic fine.  No police department or court will ever send you a text to collect fines.

Officer ran stationary patrol on Highway 17 on the bike trail.  Officer initiated a traffic stop after a vehicle stopped and let a bike cross, and almost caused the vehicle behind him to run into the back of him.  Driver was warned for stopping on the traveled portion of the roadway. 

Officer assisted MFR with a medical call in the 600 block of Maverick Ln.

Officer reclaimed property for the Madrid Fire Department in the 800 block of S. Union St.

Officer assisted MFR at the Cedars with a lift assist.

Officer received a voicemail regarding a lost dog. Officer looked for the dog throughout the City but was unable to locate the animal.

04/22/26

Officer assisted Madrid Fire/Rescue with a medical call in the 800 block of Raven Lane.  The subject had fallen and could not get back up.  Fire/Rescue and Officer were able to help her up.  Officer disregarded the ambulance after finding the patient had no injuries.

Officer was called in reference to a juvenile assault that took place after school.  Officer spoke to the victim and his father who stated that they indeed wanted to file charges.  Officer will draw them up and send them to juvenile services.

Officer spoke to the County Attorney and Boone County Juvenile Services in reference to the last juvenile call.  Juvenile Services stated that they were contacting a judge for detention placement for the juvenile.  

Officer met with a subject at the Madrid Police Department for case follow-up.

04/23/26

Officer spoke to a Madrid resident in reference to an on-going case.

Officer attended a court proceeding at the Boone County Courthouse.

Officer assisted a subject at Git N Go, that was having issues figuring out the fuel operation system. 

Officer was called to the Madrid High School for a student not following orders.  Officer spoke to the student and got him back inside the building with no issues.

Officer attended a meeting at the Boone County Courthouse with AG Bird.  She gave updates on assistant programs and other programs her office has to assist.

Officer was called back to the Madrid High School for a student making threats to teachers.  Officer took the student out of the building to a safe location and waited for the mother to pick him up.

 04/24/26

Officer cleaned up debris found in the roadway on West 1st Street.

Officer took a call from the Dallas County Hospital ER reference a dog bite that occurred yesterday in Madrid. Officer attempted to call and text the patient/ victim to make a report, however they did not answer and have not responded to the texts.

Officer assisted a Madrid resident with a parking situation at the Filling Station.

Officer received a voicemail regarding an ongoing property dispute. Officer stopped by callers’ home to discuss the complaint and no one was home, will call or stop by at a later date.

04/25/26

Officer responded to a 911 hang up call from 200 block of East 1st Street. Officer spoke with the homeowner and was advised it was an issue with his landline phone. He unplugged the phone until he can get a different one or fix the current one.

Officer was dispatched to True Value because a concerned citizen called in a child in a vehicle was unrestrained. When Officer arrived at the location the vehicle was already gone. Officer drove around the area but could not locate the vehicle.

Officer was dispatched to Meadow Estates Trailer Park for a report of harassment. Officer spoke with all parties involved and they advised they would attempt to be civil if they ran into each other again.

04/26/26

Officer assisted Madrid Fire/Rescue and Boone County Ambulance, with a medical call in the 600 block of North Kennedy Avenue.

Officer was dispatched to the play area at Madrid Elementary for a disagreement between juveniles. Officer spoke with juveniles and parents that had arrived on scene. It was only a verbal disagreement and all parties went their separate ways.  

Officer was advised of a reckless driver southbound on Highway 17. At the time of the phone call the suspect vehicle was already in the city limits of Madrid. By the time Officer arrived was unable to locate the vehicle.
