The Madrid Tigers hosted Earlham Tuesday, September 9, in a West Central Conference matchup at Madrid High School, but the Tigers fell in straight sets, 3-0.
Iyla Fine lead the team in assists (3) and digs (6), while Rylin Velky added 2 assists of her own.
Offensively, Lauren Dvorak and Samantha Springer each recorded 2 kills, with Springer also contributing 2 blocks at the net.
Defensively, Caia Byriel added 5 digs.
On the service line, Jaela Hansen delivered an ace, while Paige Richards and Olivia Budenz were both perfect. Richards went 7-for-7 and Budenz was 5-for-5.
The loss drops Madrid to 2-6 overall and 0-3 in conference play, while Earlham improves to 4-5 overall and 1-0 in the conference.
Tigers now prepare for a big night next week.
On Thursday, September 18, Madrid will travel for the Best of Boone County triangular, facing off against Boone at 6 p.m. and Ogden at 7 p.m.
