Manard Announces Retirement Plans

KWBG 04/26/19

BOONE, Iowa—In a statement released today from the Boone Community School District Superintendent, Dr. Brad Manard confirmed his plans to retire.

In one year, at the end of the next 2019-20 school year, Dr. Brad Manard has announced he will be retiring as superintendent of the Boone Schools. Dr. Manard stated:

“It has been my honor to serve the Boone Community School District as superintendent for the past ten years. I look forward to continuing in this role for one more year. I offer my thanks and appreciation to the many board members, teachers, support staff, parents, students, and community members it has been my honor to work with. I look forward to one more year of continued growth and quality education through the 2019-20 school year.”

By making the decision at this time, the Board will have an opportunity to complete the hiring process earlier than most next year, creating a strong candidate pool. More information on this process will be shared in the fall.

Dr. Manard, who turns 65 in August 2019, will be submitting his retirement/resignation to the Board of Education on May 13, 2019 to be effective on June 30, 2020.
