A memorial service will be held Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at 10 AM also at the Central Christian Church.

Margaret (Marg) Irene Hilsabeck was born on June 13, 1947 in Boone, Iowa to Ernest and Betty (Staley) Musser. She grew up in Boone and graduated from Boone High School in 1965. Margaret married Thomas Hilsabeck on June 24, 1967 at the Central Christian Church in Boone. Margaret worked for Bourne’s in Ames, Iowa for a short time before becoming a home daycare provider for most of her life. She especially liked going to her grandchildren’s sporting events or school events. Margaret never knew a stranger and socializing in Wal-Mart or Fareway isles for hours was not uncommon. She spent her time watching her birds out the window, using her iPad, and watching Elvis Presley and Hallmark movies.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and infant twin sons, Troy and Jason; sister, Mary Ann and brothers, Ralph, Ronnie, Gary, and Ernest Musser Jr. She is survived by three sons Michael Hilsabeck (Heidi) of Boone, IA, Chad, Hilsabeck (Shawna) of Alta, IA. Daniel Hilsabeck of Boone, IA. and daughter, Amber Van Pelt (Matt) of Boone, IA; nine grandchildren, Cole Hilsabeck (Kole) of Boone, Iowa, Tanner Duncan of Frazier, Iowa, Sidney Hilsabeck (Dalton) of Slayton, MN, Kennedy Wallace (Caleb) of Ogden, Iowa, KateLynn Duncan of Frazier, IA, Halle Hilsabeck (Colton) Alta, IA, Hannah Van Pelt of Boone, IA, Alyzabeth Hilsabeck of Boone, Iowa, Wesley Van Pelt of Boone, Iowa. Great grandchildren; Camilla, Brantley, Calder, Deante and Jauvyon. Margaret had many loved brothers, nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall Streets in Boone. Online condolences may be left to Margaret’s family at www.schroedermemorial.com.
